cars
Posted by icm501 on December 28, 2006
Been away from the icm501 blog as I was busy with partying in CT, and shopping trips to New York city. I may have mentioned sometime earlier that I am a car aficionado.
Akon drives the L Gallardo.
G Lucas now has the Mosler 900S. As anyworld wrote, “does not deserve to drive a car this cool“.
Well, I have excellent engineering here, but, there is always the ominous but.
Someday I shall drive this red beauty
I want it, I need it and one day I shall have it, whether I deserve it or not. I am succumbing to the pleasures of ostentatious consumption after toying with the idea of hybrid wheels since they first became available.

Been overeating
Posted by icm501 on December 17, 2006
Have been partying daily since the last final exam. Today we decided to check out whether the NYTimes write up about Thali was indeed as delicious as they reviewed. It was very nice, but we like our food to be at least 10 notches up on the spice and flavor scale. All in all, it was worth the hours drive to New Haven.

space walk with synthetic gecko

SLap on some of the synthetic gecko to the soles of the spacewalking astronauts. It will be much safer than hanging on by a cable.

STS-116 Mission Specialists Robert Curbeam and Christer Fuglesang will go spacewalking today. The primary objective of the spacewalk is to install a new piece to the space station’s girder-like truss.

off to NYC
Posted by icm501 on December 12, 2006
I have not been to the city in 3 years, high time I got out of suburban hibernation. Anyone interested?
at Foxy Production Gallery

New York City
January 11 – February 18, 2007

Networked Nature will present work that comments on our relationship to nature in networked culture. The works included employ various scientific processes and locative media, such as GPS devices and space-imaging technology, and take the form of installations, video, and sound art. Together, they make new contributions to the discourses of extant genres, such as sculpture, earth works, and landscape imaging, while also demonstrating the scientific beauty and complexity of electronic and digital art.

dinner and study buddies
Posted by icm501 on December 11, 2006
So after meeting yesterday for a group discussion, we realised that it helps to talk about the readings and distil out the key facts and relate to the other topics. Sitting at home by ourselves to read, does not accomplish the task. My mind wanders, I surf the net or end up in SL.
We are now going to meet at my home for dinner (no alcohol) and group study.

plain ridiculous
Posted by icm501 on December 4, 2006
Aishwarya Rai By the age of 32, Rai had a tulip named after her and dolls in her image, and she was voted one of the most beautiful actors in the world. This former Miss World is an international face of L’OrĂ©al. Having wowed Bollywood audiences for more than a decade she has crossed over to Hollywood with films such as Bride and Prejudice and Mistress of Spices.
Now this elegant bollywood beauty who was featured on the Oprah show as well as Letterman, is embroiled in a court action for an on screen kiss in the film Dhoom2 . How ridiculous is the lawyer, get a life man.
